Pipeline Bursts Near Eppley Airport FSI by Thrasher Responds

After weeks of devastation brought on by Missouri River flooding, homeowners and businesses are still being affected by the high water table. Just this morning, Foundation Supportworks by Thrasher responded to an urgent request to stabilize a building near Eppley Airport. The pressure from the high water table snapped an underground pipeline which then flooded parts of the building and caused a large amount of ground erosion.

Foundation Supportworks by Thrasher crews were able to mobilize and work quickly. With water being continuously pumped out, two Model 350 Helical Piers were installed underneath the foundation's footing to depths of 30ft and the pipeline repair work began.

Over 75 Local Engineers Attend Foundation Supportworks Engineering Seminar

On Friday, January 28^th, Foundation Supportworks by Thrasher hosted a 5-hour engineering seminar presented by Jeff Kortan, Director of Engineering for Foundation Supportworks and Don Deardorff, Senior Application Engineer for Foundation Supportworks. In October 2010, Foundation Supportworks by Thrasher officially became the commercial projects division of Thrasher Basement Systems, Inc. Thrasher has been in residential and commercial retrofit piering projects since 1985 and new construction helical pile installations since 2000.

The 5-hour seminar gave local engineers an opportunity to obtain 5 Professional Development Hours and expand their knowledge about typical applications, design considerations, capacity calculations, and material selection for Foundation Supportworks, helical foundation systems, helical soil nails, and push pier systems.

Feedback from the seminar has been very positive. Lawrence Wickstom of Wickstrom PE MBA and Associates stated, The seminar was great. I learned the fundamentals of the business.
